Mr. Paxton is a seasoned healthcare executive with expertise in operations, finance, and motivating and developing others. He is accomplished at producing results in large, complex organizations where teamwork and negotiation skills are required. He has excellent communications skills, which have aided him in working effectively with governing bodies, physicians, management and staff.
Mr. Paxton retired in December 2009 as chief operating officer of Lehigh Valley Health Network. He served in a number of leadership positions in the areas of finance and operations during his 27 years with the organization, stepping down with an extensive list of accomplishments. Prior to joining LVHN, he was employed by organizations specializing in executive training, steel fabrication, and public accounting. He was a licensed CPA in Pennsylvania.
Since retiring from LVHN, Mr. Paxton has focused on developing a management consulting practice, Paxton & Associates, LLC. In addition, he serves on a number of boards of directors, including Capital BlueCross, Lehigh Valley Industrial Park (Finance Committee), Health Network Laboratories, and Bethlehem Area Moravians.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Virginia, Mr. Paxton served in the United States Air Force, receiving a commendation for meritorious service. He then earned a master of business administration degree from the University of New Hampshire.
Mr. Paxton and his wife Lizabeth reside in Bethlehem, Pa. They have three adult children.
